Fireproof Bible Study #3 – 3/31/2010

Tonight’s lesson is entitled “Love for a Lifetime” and the chapter centers around the understanding of wedding vows and asking the question “What do your wedding vows really mean to you?” The dictionary defines the word vow as “a solemn promise, pledge, or personal commitment.” Here is what the Scripture says about vows in Ecclesiastes 5:4-5:

4When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.

5Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

Don’t forget about the book “The Love Dare” as a companion to this Bible Study. This is the 40 day challenge that Caleb’s father encouraged him to use and is a great guide to putting theory into practice.

If you needed help in your marriage, would you know where to go?

Over 50 % of marriages in America end up in divorce. Shouldn’t Christ make a difference? Yet nearly 50% of Christian marriages end in divorce. If Christianity offers help, then the message is not being delivered. Calvary Baptist Church is pleased to offer Biblically-based, Christ-centered teaching on the home. Join us for FIREPROOF the movie in homes across the area on March 10, 2010. Then join us for the FIREPROOF Bible study on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 beginning March 17, 2010 and continuing for six weeks.
